Seasonal Ground Operations Staff – Aerial Collective

Role Overview:

In order to strengthen our existing experienced team, we are seeking likeminded individuals to work with us on an ad-hoc basis looking after our passengers and their guests, as well as potentially representing Aerial Collective at airshows and other events throughout the year. The bulk of our flights take place between April and October, and this is when we would anticipate that you would be working.

Key Responsibilities:

Meeting and greeting our customers and their guests
Carrying out safety briefings as required, together with the completion of any associated paperwork.
Assisting passengers getting into and out of the aircraft, and ensuring any safety equipment and seat harnesses are correctly worn.
Engaging guests in conversation where appropriate, ensuring they enjoy the experience as much as the person taking the flight.
Ensuring that the guest facilities are ready for the day ahead and maintained to a high standard throughout the day.
Processing flight footage from the aircraft onboard cameras.
Ensuring the safety of our customers and guests.
Liaise with Pilots as required, whilst taking care not to distract them from any tasks being carried out.
Assisting with refuelling and cleaning of aircraft where required.
Willingness to get involved with any promotional activities at airshows and other local events.

About You:

Whilst having an interest in the aircraft is desirable, your natural ability to engage with our customers and guests will set you apart from the rest. The ideal candidates will come from a Hospitality, Events or Retail environment with the following attributes:

A proactive approach to the day with the ability to spot and complete tasks which need to be undertaken.
A genuine interest in people with the ability to make them feel at ease so as they and their guests get the most from their experience with us.
Confidence in dealing with a wide range of people in differing situations, as well as giving instructions, such as passenger briefings where required.
Ensuring that nothing is ‘too much trouble’ for our customers and their guests.
Able to work together as part of a team.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
Natural and calm communication skills with the ability to treat everybody equally and remain calm under pressure.
You will be a team player and not afraid to get involved in any task to ensure customer satisfaction without putting undue strain on other team members.

Aerial Collective specialise in providing vintage aircraft flying experiences in a variety of World War 2 era ‘Warbirds’ from the iconic grounds of the Imperial War Museum and former RAF/USAAF Airfield at Duxford, Cambridgeshire.

Supported closely by the Aircraft Restoration Company, we are a family owned company established in 1989 dealing with the restoration, maintenance and operation of a wide variety of historic aircraft, including those operated by Aerial Collective.
